Get the Girls into Science – Bridge Institute Joins the Global Celebration

Every year on February 11th, the world pauses to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a day established by the United Nations in 2015 to champion equal access and participation in science for women and girls. In 2026, the focus is sharper than ever: how new and emerging technologies can shape gender equality. While women make up a significant portion of science students, they still represent less than one‑third of researchers worldwide. This day reminds us that the journey toward balance is far from over.

At Bridge Institute of Information Technology, we don’t just believe in this mission, we live it. For us, science is not a distant concept locked away in laboratories; it is coding classes buzzing with creativity, young women building apps that solve real problems, and girls discovering that they can be architects of the digital future. We continue to encourage women to code, to innovate, and to lead, because we know that when girls step into science, they bring fresh ideas, bold solutions, and unstoppable energy.

This February, our campaign is simple but powerful: Get the Girls into Science. Throughout the month, we are preaching, teaching, and celebrating the brilliance of girls who dare to dream in STEM. We will be hosting workshops that make coding fun, mentorship sessions that connect young women with role models, and storytelling moments that highlight the journeys of women who have broken barriers in science and technology.

The global observance this year emphasizes women’s role in creating secure digital ecosystems. At Bridge Institute, we see this every day … young women learning to protect data, design ethical systems, and build technologies that serve communities. They are not just participants; they are leaders shaping the future of science and technology.

Science needs women, and women need science. That is why we are committed to making every girl feel welcome in the world of STEM. We believe that the next groundbreaking innovation could come from a girl in one of our classrooms, a young coder discovering her passion, or a student who realizes that science is not just for others … it is for her too.

So this February, as the world celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Bridge Institute proudly adds its voice: let’s make science inclusive, let’s make it exciting, and let’s get the girls into science.
