Hon. Beatrice Kiraso Honored with the 2026 Jeane J. Kirkpatrick Award

Bridge Institute of Information Technology (BIIT) proudly celebrates our Board Chairperson, Hon. Beatrice Kiraso, who has been awarded the 2026 Jeane J. Kirkpatrick Award by the International Republican Institute’s Women’s Democracy Network. This prestigious recognition honors her lifelong leadership in advancing women’s political participation and democratic governance in Uganda and across East Africa.

Hon. Kiraso’s journey is a testament to the power of knowledge and courage. From her pioneering role in establishing Uganda’s Parliamentary Budget Office to building regional frameworks for cooperation within the East African Community, she has consistently demonstrated that strong institutions are built on education, inclusivity, and vision. As an African proverb reminds us, “Wisdom is like fire. People take it from others.” Her leadership has ignited opportunities for countless women and communities, creating pathways for democratic participation and responsible governance.

At BIIT, we see her recognition as deeply connected to our mission. Just as she has championed women’s voices in governance, BIIT is committed to equipping women, youth, and professionals with ICT skills that empower them to thrive in today’s digital economy. We believe, as Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Through our training programs, digital literacy initiatives, and entrepreneurship development, we transform individual aspirations into collective progress—mirroring the values that Hon. Kiraso embodies.

Her award is not only a personal achievement but also an inspiration for BIIT and the Bridge Group of Companies. It affirms that education, skilling, and innovation are the foundation stones of both democracy and development. As we continue to build bridges of opportunity through ICT and education, we celebrate her example as a guiding light for our work.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Beatrice Kiraso. Her recognition is a reminder that when knowledge meets courage, communities rise, nations prosper, and futures are transformed.
