For Karamagi Lawrence, technology was never just about machines and codes …it was about solving problems and connecting communities. His passion for networking, web development, and technical support inspired him to pursue a National Certificate Course in ICT as a way to empower others and create meaningful solutions.
Lawrence chose Bridge Institute of Information Technology because of its practical and hands-on approach to training. He wanted more than theory; he wanted real-world skills that would prepare him for industry challenges. When he began his internship, he felt both excited and nervous, but his eagerness to learn quickly turned into determination.
At ChapaaNetworks, Lawrence worked on projects that tested and strengthened his skills. He installed and configured MikroTik routers and hotspot systems, set up access points, repaired computers, developed websites, and provided IT support to clients. One of his most memorable challenges was troubleshooting a faulty hotspot network. With patience and logical thinking, he restored connectivity, an achievement that sharpened his problem-solving skills and boosted his confidence.

The internship became a turning point in his journey. Lawrence gained advanced skills in bandwidth management and real-time troubleshooting, while also improving his communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. His work contributed directly to businesses and individuals by ensuring reliable internet access, supporting productivity, learning, and community connection.
Looking ahead, Lawrence plans to specialize in networking and systems administration, become a professional network engineer and ICT consultant, and eventually establish his own technology solutions company. His dream is to provide affordable internet solutions, support digital transformation, and train young people in ICT to drive Uganda’s progress in the digital age.
For Lawrence, the most rewarding part of his internship was seeing networks he installed come alive, clients satisfied, systems running smoothly, and communities connected. His advice to fellow students is clear: “be proactive, ask questions, practice regularly, and be willing to learn from every task“.
Lawrence’s journey shows how passion, persistence, and practical training can transform ambition into achievement. At Bridge Institute of Information Technology, we celebrate his success as a powerful example of how building networks also builds confidence, careers, and communities.
